Joan Chamorro (1962) is a Catalan musician. He studied classic saxophone at the Conservatori de Barcelona with Adolf Ventas. He obtained the title of Superior Degree at the Barcelona Music Workshop.

He has played with the Barcelona Taller de músics Big Band, in several European festivals. He also collaborates with the Big Band of Bellaterra, the John Dubuclet Big Band, the Big Band Jazz Terrassa, the Supercombo by Eladio Reinón- Tete Montoliu, the Radio Televisión Española Orchestra, as well as the Manhattan Transfer and Stevie Wonder ...

He has worked with different musicians: Slide Hampton, Tete Montoliu, Frank Foster, Gary Smulyan, Dick Oatts, Bebo Valdés, Ralf Lalama, Teddy Edwars, Frank Wess, Jessy Devis, Dennis Rowland, Josep Maria Farràs, Perico Sambeat, Lluis Vidal, Randy Brecker, Carmen Lundy, David Mengual, David Xirgu, Mike P. Mossman, John Mosca, Bart Van Lier, David Allen, Bobby Shew, Judy Niemack ... and many more.

He currently leads a quintet (Andrea Motis & Joan Chamorro Quintet) and is the founder and director of the Sant Andreu Jazz Band.
